Within the framework of the ERDF project Restoration of Jelgava Old Town and Adaptation Thereof for Tourism Development, the Old Town was facilitated – street carriageways and sidewalks were restored, maintaining the cobblestone pavement, lanterns and benches were installed along with a memorial sign of the historical Dobeles Gate. Information boards and placards have been placed in the streets of the Old Town, showing tourist attractions in Jelgava and providing unique information about the city at different times, suggesting a route through the reconstructed street district.

From 2018, the Zemgale Restoration Centre is being established in Jelgava, which will be housed in an architectural monument of national importance at 14 Vecpilsētas Street. The Restoration Centre is divided into two parts - the stone part of the house will be used for restoration workshops, where professional restorers will work and this part of the house will not be open to visitors on a daily basis, while the wooden part of the house will be used for exhibitions, where visitors can learn about the restoration process and the history of the house. The house of 14 Vecpilsētas Street is available for visiting by prior appointment from August 2021.
